So this week in Bible 2 we read “Thessalonians 1” and “Thessalonians
2” which were Pauls’ two letters to the church of the Thessalonians. In these
letters Paul talks about the end times and the coming of Jesus Christ. He
specifically tells us some things in Thessalonians 2: Chapter 2 Verses 1-12. In
these verse Paul tells us things like not to be unsettled by the end times, because
no one knows the day or the hour it will happen, and to beware the lawless one
(The Anti-Christ) who will lead others astray and proclaim himself to be God.
Now Paul wrote this around 2,000 years ago, so what does it mean for Christians
now? Everything. As the Bible has said we don’t know when the end times are
exactly, they could not happen even in our grandchildren’s lifetime, but we
should prepare for them as if they are happening now. So how do we prepare?
Well first, don’t listen to anyone who has said they know when the world is
ending. Remember when the world ended in 2012? Yeah, I don’t either. Yet
thousands, maybe even millions thought the world was going to end, they even
made a movie about it (Which we can use to trick our kids into thinking we
survived 2012)! Second, prepare for the Anti-Christ. Whether you are one of the
people who thinks the Anti-Christ is already here (like those who believe Obama
was the Anti-Christ)
or that he’s still on his way, we still need to prepare
for what he’s going to do to this world. People are going to follow him, maybe
even some people close to you. We have to prepare ourselves not to fall for his
lies and wait for the day that Jesus comes back and rids the world of the
Anti-Christ. Now, these are only two way to prepare, and there are many more. How
will you prepare?
